Why address stress at work?

Most organisations are unaware of the actual costs to their business, and of the dramatic savings that can be made by effectively managing stress at work.

People managers are the first port of call in a stressful situation and need to have the skills to mitigate these costs and build a healthy culture at work which fosters motivational behaviour, trust and loyalty.

The business case for addressing stress at work has multiple elements: economic, legal, financial and moral.

If ignored, stress can have long-standing effects, such as an increase in sickness absences, loss in performance, high turnover of staff, low morale, all accumulating in increased costs and at its worst a breakdown of the whole team.

This stress management training course provides a step by step guide for managers to help them identify the early signs of stress, have a framework for managing it, as well as building strong relationships with their team. In addition, they will learn how to create the right climate to encourage open discussion about stress and work in partnership with their team.
